Lake Bloke

Lake Bloke lies on the Bloke plateau, surrounded by forests and meadows, and is one of the highest-lying larger lakes in Slovenia. Thanks to its clay bed, the lake retains water throughout the year, setting it apart from the neighbouring, intermittent Lake Cerknica.

In summer it's popular with anglers and anyone seeking quiet time in nature, while in winter the lake often freezes over and becomes a well-loved outdoor ice rink – a tradition that runs deep in the Bloke region's history. Relaxed walking paths also circle the lake.
