Rakov Škocjan

A picturesque karst valley with natural bridges and caves, just minutes from our apartments.

~5 min drive from the apartments

Rakov Škocjan is a narrow karst valley carved by the Rak River, famous for its two impressive natural bridges – remnants of collapsed cave ceilings. The area is part of the Notranjska Regional Park and one of the finest examples of Slovenia's karst underworld brought to the surface.

An easy circular walking trail leads through the valley, past the Zelške Caves, the source and sink of the Rak River, and through a beech forest that gives the valley a special charm in every season. A great choice for families and nature lovers looking for a short but unforgettable excursion.
