Postojna Cave

A world-famous karst cave with its own cave train, just a short drive from our apartments.

~18 min drive from the apartments

Postojna Cave is one of the largest and most visited karst caves in the world, with more than 24 kilometres of explored passages, halls and galleries. The tour begins with a ride on the cave train deep into the heart of the cave, continuing on foot through magnificent stalactite halls.

The cave is also home to the olm (Proteus anguinus), a unique amphibian species that visitors can see in a dedicated aquarium. Nearby is Predjama Castle, built into the middle of a cliff above the cave entrance – a popular combination for a full day out.
